Terms of service

Version 2.0. Effective date: [placeholder: date approved]. These terms replace Version 1.0.

Who we are

Plumway Studio is a web design and branding studio for lash techs, nail techs, and brow artists on Long Island. Reach us at plumwaystudio@gmail.com or by DM on Instagram at @plumwaystudio. The person or business you contract with is named in your written project agreement.

Offers and prices

• Brand Clarity Session, starting at $99: messaging review, profile review, and a written action plan. If you book a Brand & Web Starter within 30 days of your session, the session fee is credited toward it.
• Brand & Web Starter, starting at $399: visual identity direction, website structure, and homepage design and copy. This founding rate applies to our first 3 clients; after that, the Starter is quoted per project.

Prices on our site are starting prices. Your final price, scope, and timeline are confirmed in a written quote before any work starts, and the written quote is what applies.

What isn't included

Unless your written quote lists them: domains, hosting, paid apps or plugins, third-party licenses, ad spend, online stores, custom back-end systems, ongoing maintenance, extra pages, extra revision rounds, and Google Business Profile or review support, which are quoted separately.

Payment

• A 50% deposit starts the work. The remaining 50% is due before launch or handoff.

• Work starts once you accept the written quote, we receive the deposit, and we have your content.
• If a payment is late, we may pause work or hold the launch after telling you. We will never delete your files or take over your accounts.
• There is no subscription. Hosting and domain costs are paid by you, directly to the provider, in your name.

Timeline

Typically 2 weeks after we receive your content. Your written quote states the timeline for your project. If content or feedback arrives late, the timeline moves by the same amount.

What you provide

Photos of your work, your service list and prices, your booking link, your hours and service area, your deposit and cancellation policy, and a few lines about you. If you have them, also your logo, brand colors or fonts, reviews you have permission to share, and 2–3 websites you like. For your Google Business Profile and domain, you give us access, and they stay in your name.

You confirm that you have the right to use everything you send us, and that you have a signed release from anyone who can be identified in your photos. A parent or guardian signs for anyone under 18.

Revisions and approval

• Each project includes two consolidated rounds of revisions.
• New pages, new features, or a major change of direction are changes to the scope, priced and scheduled in writing before we do them.
• If something we delivered doesn't match the agreed scope, we fix it at no extra cost.
• We launch only after your written approval. Silence is not approval.

You own everything

• Your accounts: your domain, hosting, Google Business Profile, and social accounts stay in your name from the start. We work through access you give us, and you can remove it at any time.
• Your content: everything you send us stays yours. You let us use it only for your project.
• Your finished site: once you have paid in full, we transfer to you all of our rights in the final website files, copy, and design files we made for your project, and hand them over in a folder you keep.
• Exceptions: fonts, software, and hosting platforms stay under their owners' licenses, and we tell you which ones your site uses. We keep our general skills and methods, and drafts that weren't used in your final site.

• AI-assisted work: parts of work made with AI tools may not be protected by copyright, so we can't promise exclusive rights in those parts.
• No lock-in: you can move your site to any host at any time, with no fee from us.

Founding clients

Our first 3 clients receive a reduced rate in exchange for written permission to share the finished project. We show only what you approve in writing.

Sharing your project

Outside the founding offer, we show your name, logo, or project only with your written permission.

How we use AI

We use AI tools to help with drafting and production. A person reviews every fact and decision, and all photos are real photos used with permission. We don't use AI-generated, stock, or online images in client sites.

Claims and results

We don't write health, medical, beauty-results, or safety claims. Results depend on many factors, so we don't guarantee followers, traffic, bookings, sales, or search rankings.

Reviews

After your project, we may ask for an honest review. We never offer anything in exchange for a positive review, and we never ask anyone to hide or remove a negative one.

Cancellations and refunds

• Before work begins: we refund your deposit, minus any third-party costs you approved that can't be recovered.
• After work begins: we settle based on the work completed at the agreed rates or milestones, plus approved third-party costs that can't be recovered. Anything you prepaid for work not done is refunded.
• If we cancel: we give you an accounting and refund what you prepaid for work not delivered.
• Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under the law.

Privacy

Our website has no forms, trackers, or cookies. When you message or email us, we use what you send only to reply to you and to do your project.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version and effective date at the top show which one is current. If your signed project agreement says something different, the agreement applies.
